How to Operate a Safe Combination Lock With No Handle

A safe is a locking box used to secure valuables. There are many different kinds of safes available including combination-style safes without handles. To open a combination safe without a handle, you need to use the combination dial to unlock the safe. Once the safe is unlocked you can open the safe by using a button, pulling the safe door open with the combination dial or using a screwdriver to pry open the safe door.

Turn the combination dial to the left in a counterclockwise motion. Complete three full rotations of the dial and stop when the dial is pointed to the first number of the combination.

    • 3

Turn the combination dial to the right in a clockwise motion. Pass the second number of the combination. Complete one additional rotation stopping on the second number of the combination.

    • 4

Turn the combination dial to the left in a counterclockwise motion stopping on third number of the combination.

    • 5

Open the safe. The combination dial is now unlocked and you can pull open the door to the safe. Since the safe does not have a handle, look for a button on the safe that says "Open." If your safe doesn't have a button try pulling the door open from the combination dial. If the safe door is too strong to pull open from the combination dial, stick the edge of a flat edged screwdriver in the crack between the safe door and the side of the safe. Apply pressure to the screwdriver to pull open the safe door.
