How to Get Rid of MSN Block Checker Messages
MSN features services with its MSN Messenger program that enables you to chat with other MSN users. Navigate to the CNET page that features the MSN Virus Remover download (see Resources). MSN Virus Remover is a free program specifically developed to eliminate MSN-related viruses including the MSN Block Checker virus.

Click the "Download Now" link on the upper-left region of the page to download the software. Click the "Save File" tab on the pop-up box titled "Opening MSN Virus Remover.exe." Double-click the "MSN Virus Removal.exe" file displayed on the "Downloads" window or on the desktop depending on the web browser you use. Follow the personalized prompts on the installation wizard.

Double-click on the "MSN Virus Removal" icon on the desktop to launch the program.

Click the "Start" tab displayed on the bottom region of the MSN Virus Remover interface to begin scanning the computer for the MSN Block Checker virus. As the program scans your computer for any MSN-related viruses, it will clean and remove the MSN Block Checker virus and all its files that are affecting your MSN chat. Once the scanning and cleaning process is finished, the MSN Virus Remover program will automatically restart the computer.

Launch your antivirus software. If don't have antivirus software, you can download free programs online (see Resources).

Click the "Update" tab displayed on your antivirus software interface to update it. Thereafter, click the "Scan" or "Run Scan" tab to run a full scan on the computer. Press the "Ctrl," "Alt" and "Delete" keys on the keyboard and then click on the "Task Manager" option to launch the Task Manager. Click the "Processes" tab on the Task Manager window and click the "Show Processes From All Users" option.

Right-click on the "block-checker.exe" process displayed beneath the "Image Name" heading and select "End process." Close the Task Manager.

Click the "Start" menu button on the left corner of the screen. Type "regedit" in the Start menu search field and press the "Enter" key to launch the Registry Editor.

Delete the following registry values:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\BlockChecker
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\VB and VBA Program Settings\IMAdvertiser\MSN
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\VB and VBA Program Settings\IMAdvertiser\AOL
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\VB and VBA Program Settings\IMAdvertiser\Yahoo
These registry values are located on the left side of the Registry Editor window. To delete the values, right-click on each one individually and select the "Delete" option. Close the Registry Editor window once you have deleted the registry values.

Click the "Start" button and type "block-checker.exe" in the Start menu search field. Right-click on the "block-checker.exe" file displayed on the search results list and click "Delete" to delete this file from the computer.

Restart the computer and the MSN Block Checker virus will be gone.
