Instructions

    • 1

Cut a hole around the damaged area, using scissors. The area to be repaired should have clean edges.

    • 2

Cut a vinyl replacement piece large enough to overlap the hole. You can get vinyl patches from upholstery retailers. Depending on the size of the hole, you can sometimes use leftover material underneath the seat.

    • 3

Place the patch inside the hole and flatten it out.

    • 4

Place small beads of vinyl adhesive to the edges of the patch. Lift up the edges of the upholstery, and carefully slide the patch under the hole.

    • 5

Press the upholstery onto the patch, and let sit for 24 hours.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you have a rip rather than a hole in your vinyl upholstery, simple apply glue to the edges of the patch, slip it under the rip, and apply pressure as you bring the two sides of the tear together.
