How to Take Care of Slate Tile
Slate floor tiles are found in many homes and businesses. The tile provides a strong and highly durable floor surface that is a permanent fixture in the home. Since you have invested in a permanent flooring option, it is important to care for the slate tile in a way that keeps it looking brand new for many years. Sweep your slate tile regularly, about every three to four days or as needed to remove loose dirt and buildup.

Mop the slate tile with a wet cleaning mop moistened with water. Follow up with a dry mop to collect excess liquid.

Combine 1 gallon of warm water with either 2 tsp. of dish soap or 2 tsp. of stone cleaner.

Dip a mop in the mix. Wring it out and wipe the mop across your slate tile. Continue until you clean the slate to your satisfaction. Follow up with a dry mop to collect any remaining moisture.
