1
Talk to your child a few weeks before school starts about what a regular day will be like once school begins. Remind them from time to time as the day grows closer so that the child is both expecting and anticipating the schedule change to come.
-
2
Take your child to the school before the year has started to show them around all the areas they will be in, including the classroom, hallways, bathrooms or play areas. If possible, arrange a meeting to introduce your child to her future teacher.

3
Start reading books or watching movies that are all about school so your child can further learn about what to expect from various points of view.
-
4
Start using the same bed time and wake up time routines that you will use during the school year starting about a week before school starts. This will prepare your child's internal clock for the change.
