How to Obtain GED Results thumbnail
Forms to request GED transcript are on the Internet.

If you have taken your General Education Development (GED) exam, you may be eager to reap the benefits of a GED. However, you cannot take advantage of these benefits, until you obtain your GED results. The method through which you obtain your results depends upon various factors. Different procedures must be used to request results depending upon when you took the test, your test taking location and your military status at the time you took the test.

Visit the website of the American Council on Education (see Resources) to determine whether the American Council on Education or the individual testing facility holds your GED results. From the homepage, click on "GED Testing Services" from the "Program or Service" pull-down menu. From the "GED Testing Services" page, click on "Request Transcript." Read through the information to determine the organization from which you must request your results. This will be determined by the year you took the exam, your military status when you took the exam, the country in which you took the exam and whether you were a prison inmate at test-taking time.
