Instructions

    • 1

Allow the soil to dry between waterings. Peace lilies need well-drained soil that is kept moist, but when the soil is almost dry to the touch, 2 inches down in the soil, water the plant thoroughly.

    • 2

Place the plant in a location with indirect sunlight. Peace lilies do tolerate low light levels, but will thrive in bright, but indirect sunlight.

    • 3

Apply 20-20-20 (nitrogen-phosphate-potassium) fertilizer, diluted in half, to the peace lily every three months.

    • 4

Control indoor temperatures so the room stays between 68 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit during the day and drops only 10 degrees Fahrenheit at night.

    • 5

Wipe the peace lily leaves with a damp rag once a week to remove dust. Once the flower starts to die back, immediately cut the stalk down at the base of the plant so the energy for the plant is not wasted on the spent flower.

Tips & Warnings

  • Peace lily leaf tips can turn brown with excessive drying of the soil and from over-fertilizing.

  • When leaves start to droop at the end of the day and the plant has moist soil, the plant may be receiving to much sunlight and should be moved.
