How to Configure My Signaling Server to Talk to Verizon Sip Trunk

SIP stands for "Session Initiation Protocol." Developed by Nortel, SIP allows service providers to

use VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) technology for all forms of communication. You may want to configure your signaling server with Verizon so you are able to make calls using your Verizon account. Note that you will need a Verizon account to perform this task.

Instructions

    • 1

      Connect your Nortel VoIP adapter to your Verizon router with an Ethernet cable.

      Connect your computer to the Nortel VoIP adapter using the provided cable.

      Connect the Verizon router to your existing modem using another Ethernet cable.

    • 4

      Power up your modem, router, adapter and your computer.

    • 5

      Insert the Verizon installation CD provided to you into your CD/DVD-ROM drive. Wait till a setup wizard pops up on the screen.

      Follow on-screen prompts to register your computer. Click "Finish" to end the task.
