      Pour a cup of bleach down the drain.

      Wait 20 minutes.

      Moisten a clean toothbrush with bleach and use it to scrub the drain's surface, along with the upper inner portion of the drain if possible.

      Pour boiling water down the drain to wash away the bleach and further clean the drain.

  • Keep bleach in a secure area away from children and animals. Do not inhale bleach vapors or mix bleach with other cleaning products. Use gloves if handling bleach for an extended period of time.
