How to Make Frog Decorations

How to Make Frog Decorations thumbnail
Frogs can be adapted to decorations for a boy's or girl's party.

Frog decorations can be an appropriate decor choice for a child's birthday party or even a baby shower. Play off the Disney movie "The Princess and the Frog" to transform the decorations to a girlish and feminine look. Incorporate frogs with other kinds of pond creatures, like fish, snails and snakes, for a boy's party. Many of the decorations can be made from items you already have in your home or with a few small purchases at a local craft or party store.

Instructions

    • 1

Cut out lily pad shapes from green tissue paper or construction paper. Place the lily pads on the tables at each place setting and place a toy frog on top of each lily pad.

    • 2

Blow up green balloons and draw a frog face on them in permanent marker. Glue strands of pink ribbon from the mouth as the frog's tongue. Hang the balloons around the room.

    • 3

Glue googly eyes to flowers that are dyed green, such as carnations. Glue a pink ribbon to the bottom of the flowers to complete the look of a flower frog with a frog tongue. Gather the frog flowers together in a vase in the center of the table.

    • 4

Bake a round cake and frost it with green frosting. Use an icing bag to add the eyes, nostrils and mouth of the frog in icing. You could also use candy to complete the frog face in lieu of using icing. For example, use jelly beans for the eyes and nostrils and a piece of red licorice for the tongue. Place the cake in the center of a table as a centerpiece.

    • 5

Cut out two circles, two inches in diameter from construction paper. Decorate them to be the frog's eyes. Color a paper plate to resemble the frog's mouth and nose. Glue the eyes to the top of the plate. String the plates together and hang them on the walls as a frog banner.
