How to Fix Sonic Focus Drivers

By Cee Jay

The Intel Audio Studio application needs the Sonic Focus Drivers to work correctly. If you receive an error message that states, "Sonic Focus Drivers Must Be Loaded for this Application to Work," the appropriate drivers are missing or corrupted. If it also shows a yellow exclamation mark in the Device Manager, the drivers did not load correctly and must be reinstalled.

Step 1

Click "Start," "Control Panel," "Hardware and Sound."

Step 2

Click "Device Manager" and click to expand "Sound, Video and Game Controllers."

Step 3

Right-click the Intel Audio drivers, which might say something like "SigmaTel High Definition Audio Codec."

Step 4

Click "Uninstall" and place a check by "Delete the Driver Software for this Device."

Step 5

Click "Yes" to confirm and then restart the computer.

Step 6

Go to the Download Center at downloadcenter.intel.com and click "Run Intel Driver Update Utility."

Step 7

Click "Check Your System for the Latest Updates" and wait while the utility identifies the missing drivers. Once complete, the audio drivers install automatically.
