You have to look a little harder to find racquetball shoes, but they're out there. Think lightweight, specialized tennis shoes.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Athletic Socks
  • Racquetball Goggles
  • Racquetball Rackets
  • Racquetball Shoes
  • Racquetballs
  • Water Bottles With Squeeze Caps
  1. Step 1

Wear the type of sock you play in to the store.

  2. Step 2

Look for something designed for quick stops and starts.

  3. Step 3

Check that the sole has a gummy, rubber-like tacky feel (tacky as in sticky, not tacky as in green shag carpet).

  4. Step 4

Make sure it's a light shoe - compare the weight with other pairs.

  5. Step 5

    Try on numerous pairs.

  6. Step 6

Remember when you were a kid how you'd run around the store with your new shoes on to see how fast they were. They let older kids do that, too. Seriously. Do it.

  7. Step 7

Buy the shoes that fit all the above criteria and, most importantly, are just flat-out comfortable.

Tips & Warnings
  • Your shoes, especially the soles, will last longer if you only wear them inside.
  • Playing a whole match in brand-new shoes often causes blisters. Bring your old shoes to the court with you in case the new ones start to give you grief after awhile.
  • If you have any condition that would impair or limit your ability to engage in physical activity, please consult a physician before attempting this activity. This information is not intended as a substitute for professional medical advice or treatment.
