A glove that fits properly keeps your grip on the racquet handle secure and prevents blisters from forming.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Racquetball Gloves
  • Racquetball Goggles
  • Racquetball Rackets
  • Racquetballs
  • Water Bottles With Squeeze Caps
  1. Step 1

Bring your racquet to the store with you.

  2. Step 2

Lay out a wide selection of gloves in front of you.

  3. Step 3

Try on numerous gloves. Sheepskin, goatskin and synthetic leathers are all popular.

  4. Step 4

Grip your racquet and give it some test swings with each prospective glove.

  5. Step 5

Determine how much ventilation you want. Open holes on the back of the hand or mesh are often available.

  6. Step 6

Check that seams are either double-stitched or reinforced at the base of the finger. No point in buying a glove just to have it unravel quickly.

  7. Step 7

Pick one that is a comfortable fit.

  8. Step 8

Once you've found the glove you want, choose a color.

Tips & Warnings
  • You only need one glove for racquetball.
  • It may seem like an extraneous purchase, but a glove does help your game.
  • Ask to borrow a friend's glove if you're thinking about buying the same brand.

on 11/22/2005 While trying on gloves, try holding your racquet with the glove on, and twisting the racket with your other hand. If it twists in your hand, try a different glove. I had this problem, and it only became more and more exaggerated as my glove wore out. If it twists with every glove, you might want to replace the grip tape on your handle.

on 11/22/2005 I had chosen a nice tacky gripped black glove from Ektelon a while back. After each match, the black ink would bleed into my skin. I'd have to walk around for a day or two before it wore off.
