How to Secure a Truck Sub Box
One overlooked part of a car audio installation could be one of the most potentially important: securing the subwoofer box in your car or truck. A subwoofer box can be rather heavy, and in an accident it can become a dangerous projectile inside your vehicle. Although most truck subwoofer boxes are placed behind a seat, it's still important to secure your sub box.

1
Place an L-bracket against the right side of the truck sub box, so that the angle of the L-bracket is even with the bottom of the sub box and extending outwards.
-
2
Drill a hole with a drill and 1/8-inch bit in the sub box, matching the location of the hole in the bracket. Insert a wood screw through the bracket's hole and into the hole in the box. Tighten the screw to hold the bracket in place.

3
Repeat the process in Steps 1 and 2 with a second L-bracket on the left side of the box.
-
4
Place the box in the location you've chosen. Drill holes where the holes of the brackets match the floor of the truck cab, using a drill and 1/8-inch bit.
-
5
Place sheet metal screws through the brackets and into the holes you've drilled. Tighten the screws to secure the box to the floor.
