How to Recycle TPMC Plastic

The TPMC is an electronic Wi-Fi touchpad made of plastic. Recycling a TPMC would require the item to be recycled as a piece of electronic equipment, as the interior is made of multiple electronic pieces. The device cannot be melted down with plastic items unless the other pieces have been removed. Taking a few steps to recycle the TPMC will ensure that it does not add to the mountains of electronic waste piling up in landfills.

Instructions

Bring your TPMC to a local electronics store such as Best Buy or Staples. Electronic stores are able to fix broken items and then sell them refurbished, or they will handle sending them to the proper recycling center. In many cases, the stores have drop-off bins located at the entrance of the store.

Go to the Earth911 website. Enter "Electronic" and your location into the search bar. The search results will bring up basic electronics. Reduce the results by selecting "Computer Recycling" from the menu. Depending on your area, there should be a list of multiple locations where you can drop off or ship your TPMC.

Call your state's Department of Environmental Protection facility and inquire about their policy on placing electronic items with your household recyclables. If your neighborhood offers a curbside pickup for recyclables, you may be able to place the item in the bin. If this is allowed, when the items in your bin are sorted at the city's recycling center, the TPMC device will be sent to a proper recycling location.
