How to Bypass the Security on a '92 Lesabre

Buick began producing the LeSabre in 1950, but 1992 was the first year that an anti-theft system came standard on the vehicle. The basic alarm system operates -- like most vehicle alarms -- using a remote control pad, making it simple to arm and disarm the system when needed. However, it's important to know how to manually bypass the system in case you lose your key fob.

• Door key
• Ignition key

Instructions

1. Manually unlock the driver's side car door using the key. The 1992 LeSabre has a separate key for the doors and ignition. Make sure you use the correct key so that you don't set the alarm off inadvertently.

2. Put the key in the ignition and turn it forward one notch. You need to make sure your car battery is on, but you don't want to start your car engine.

3. Within 30 seconds, flip the toggle switch on the black alarm box located under the driver's side dashboard. When you hear the alarm chirp one time and the light on the dashboard remains lit, you'll know the system is disabled.

Tips & Warnings

• If you want to completely disconnect the alarm, remove the alarm fuse from the fuse panel under the dashboard.
