Instructions

  1. Front Poof

    • 1

Separate the section of hair that stretches from temple to temple, about two-inches back from the forehead. Hold the section of hair above your head, and lightly tease it, by brushing it backward a few times.

    • 2

Twist the teased sections of hair, one time, to help define the poof. Then, lay the poof of hair on top of your head, and secure it with two bobby pins placed in a cross-shape.

    • 3

Comb the rest of your hair to help smooth it. Run a small amount of hair gloss through your hair with your fingers, if desired, to give your hair a glass-like sheen.

    Chopstick Bun

    • 4

Comb your hair back and create a ponytail at the back of your head. Secure the ponytail with a hair elastic.

    • 5

Grasp the length of your hair and tightly twist it in one direction, until the hair begins to twist upon itself. Twist the hair into a tight bun that rests against your head.

    • 6

Secure your hair in place by inserting your two hair sticks or chopsticks through the bun. Rub some hair gel along the hair, to help prevent any stray hairs from popping out.

    Messy Ponytail

    • 7

Comb some anti-frizz cream into your hair, if it is naturally curly, to prevent it from becoming frizzy. Gather a one-inch section of hair at the crown of your head and tease it slightly, by combing the hair backwards a few times.

    • 8

Gather your hair back into a low ponytail. Pull a 1/2-inch strand of hair from the underside of the ponytail. Secure the ponytail with a hair elastic, making sure to leave out the 1/2-inch section.

    • 9

Wrap the loose section of hair around the base of the ponytail, covering the hair elastic. Secure the end of the strand to the base of the ponytail with a bobby pin.

    Headband

    • 10

Select a headband that coordinates with your outfit. Neutral-colored headbands, such as black, white, gray or tan, work well with any outfit.

    • 11

Brush your hair to help smooth it. Then, apply a glossing hair polish, and brush it through.

    • 12

Slip the headband on over your hair, while leaving the back portion of it down. Alternatively, create a ponytail and slip the headband on top.
