How to Replace an HP 3333 Scanner Bulb

The HP LaserJet 3333 is a multifunction printer and scanner that was designed for Windows 2000 and Windows XP. The scanner bulb is used to illuminate during the scanning process. You can replace a scanner bulb in the printer by accessing it from within the toner compartment of the device. Replacing the bulb will only take a few moments of your time.

      Open the lower bay on the front of your HP LaserJet by pulling the gray tray downward.

      Reach into the device and grab the large black toner casing. It will be labeled "Toner."

      Lift it up to release the toner cartridge and slide it out.

      Look behind and to the right of the toner. A white bulb will be situated and screwed firmly in place.

      Reach over to the bulb and turn it away from you to unscrew it from its holder. Continue twisting until the bulb has been completely removed.

      Remove the replacement bulb from its packaging.

      Reach into the LaserJet and place the bulb into the holder, turning it toward you to screw it tightly into place.

      Replace the toner, returning it to its slot and gently pressing down to secure it in place.

      Close the gray bay housing the components. You have now replaced the light bulb.
