How to Use a 54MM Express Card With the PCMCIA thumbnail
Most laptops have some sort of an available expansion card slot.

PCMCIA, more commonly known as a PC card, is an open expansion card slot on the side of your laptop computer. It allows you to directly connect additional hardware to your computer, without opening up the computer and connecting the equipment. There is a second format of expansion cards, known as a 54mm Express Card. This connection does not directly hook up to a PCMCIA port, but with the help of an adapter you can use both 54mm Express Cards and PCMCIA cards on your laptop computer.
