How to Fold a Paper Fan Paper for Leaf Jewelry
Folded paper is used in a wide variety of crafts, including making paper fans or folded leaf art. You can combine these two paper creations by making a folded paper leaf that can be made into a pendant and worn around your neck. You can make a folded paper fan leaf necklace more durable by sealing it with a clear acrylic paint.
Things You'll Need
- Construction paper
- Scissors
- Single hole punch
- Clear acrylic paint
- Paintbrush
Instructions
-
-
1
Cut out a three-inch square from green construction paper.
-
2
Fold the paper square in half and run your finger down the fold to make it flat.
-
-
3
Using scissors, cut the folded paper into half a rounded leaf shape, so that when opened, it will look like a leaf.
-
4
Fold the folded leaf back and forth in an accordion-like manner starting at the cut edge, making each fold about 1/4-inch wide.
-
5
Open up the folded fan leaf and punch a hole in one end using a single hole punch.
-
6
Paint both sides of the leaf using clear acrylic paint. Allow the paint to dry, then apply a second coat. Once it is dry, you can string the paper fan leaf onto a chain or string to wear it as a necklace.
