How to Make Your Eyelashes Curly

Curling your eyelashes can make your eyes look bigger and brighter.

Adding curl is one way to emphasize your eyelashes, without wearing fake ones. To add curl to your eyelashes, use an eyelash curler, which can be bought at most drugstores and beauty supply stores. There are several different types of curlers, including metal, plastic and heated curlers. After your eyelashes are curled, you can apply mascara as usual. Do not apply it before curling.

Things You'll Need

• Eyelash curler
• Hairdryer
• Mascara
• Mirror
• Lash comb

Instructions

1. Clean your eyelash curler using soap and warm water. You can also disinfect it using a cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol, or makeup remover.

2. Heat your eyelash curler using a hairdryer to blow hot air on it for ten seconds. You can also heat the curler by placing it in hot water. Heating the curler produces curlier eyelashes, and longer-lasting curls.

3. Open the eyelash curler and position it around your eyelashes, so that your upper lashes are between the upper and lower edges of the curler. Gently squeeze the curler closed and hold it there for four or five seconds.

4. Release the curler and examine your eyelashes. If they are not curled enough, repeat the process.

5. Repeat with the eyelashes on your other eye. You can also curl your bottom lashes the same way.

6. Accent the curled lashes by applying mascara. Look down into a mirror, and stroke upwards with the tip of the mascara brush. Apply a second coat. Use a lash comb to separate your lashes, after applying mascara.
