How to Clean Soft Contact Lenses With Baby Shampoo
Though eyedrops and disinfectants work well, additional daily cleaning methods are required to keep soft contact lenses clean at all times. Every day, irritating material builds in your eyes that eyedrops cannot completely remove. Scrubbing your eyelids with baby shampoo, known simply as "lid-scrubbing," has emerged in the 21st century as a simple and effective way to keep your contacts and eyes free of debris, oil and bacteria that can build up in the eyes quickly.

Tips & Warnings
According to experts at agingeye.net, lid-scrubbing is recommended for eyelid inflammation and other conditions affecting the eyelids.
Pre-moistened eyelid scrubbing pads can be purchased for unusually sensitive skin and can be used out of the shower, but are not nearly as cost-effective.
Although doing so is not required, the baby shampoo can be diluted with water or rinsed briefly in the shower and work just as effectively.
Only use this technique in the shower or bath while lenses are inserted into your eyes. Never use baby shampoo while your eyes are dry or over a sink.
Use only baby shampoo. Other types of shampoo are not suitable for eye contact and could cause irritation or injuries.
Never pour baby shampoo directly into eyes. Always pour into hands or pad first.
Never clean or store contacts with baby shampoo while removed from your eyes.
