Instructions

1
Look for large, lovely letters to use. Purchase stencils or, if you prefer, choose a computer font you like and print large letters to use as a template.
-
2
Select a piece of decorative cardstock with a pretty pattern and colors that you like. Use the same kind of paper for every letter, or mix and match different colors and patterns.
-
-
3
Turn your paper over. Trace your stencil lightly on the back of it with a pencil or piece of chalk.
-
4
Lay your paper over a cutting mat or scrap cardboard. Trace over the outlines with a craft knife to cut out the letters.
-
5
Add embellishments, if desired, such as three-dimensional stickers, silk flower heads or a glitter glue outline.
-
6
Mount each letter on matching wood or cardboard squares that you have painted or covered with fabric, or mount them on matching picture frames with a decorative paper background. If you prefer not to mount them on anything, spray tack adhesive to the back of them and affix them directly to the wall. Alternatively, glue the ends of a piece of ribbon to the back of them to form a loop hanger to hang them from nails, peg hooks or rods.
