How to Find Money Owed to You From a Class Action Lawsuit
Consumers in the United States are protected by certain consumer rights laws that protect against organizations which may not have the consumer's best interest at heart. If one of the many organizations doing business in the U.S. market violates consumer rights laws, a class action lawsuit can be filed against it. It is from the numbers that class action lawsuits draw their power. If your description matches the plaintiff description you may have money owed to you.

Brainstorm potential class action lawsuits you may be eligible for. It may be for any consumer item, pharmaceutical, or service you've received in the past. Law firms frequently place ads in newspapers and on television, radio and web pages. Use these ads to help find potential lawsuits.

Contact an attorney advertising for plaintiffs in the lawsuit(s) identified in Step 1. You can also contact your lawyer to ask for a referral or lead. He may be able to provide you with a direct contact number or point you in the right direction. You may also receive a letter in the mail detailing the lawsuit. In this case, look for the contact information for the administrator.

Request to speak with the attorney or administrator covering your class action lawsuit or follow the directions on the letter received. You may need to respond directly to the letter. If you did not receive a letter, you will need to ask the administrator to define the plaintiff group. Ask the administrator how to qualify for the class action lawsuit.

Follow all instructions and requests for information. Ask the administrator how much you can expect to receive and when you can expect to receive it.
