How to Steam Clean a Microfiber Sofa

Keeping your microfiber sofa looking new and pristine involves spot cleaning it as soon as you notice stains and steam cleaning the entire sofa periodically to remove surface dirt and bigger stains. Steam cleaning prevents the use of strong chemicals in your home. Never attempt to clean microfiber that is not water tolerant. Determine whether or not your microfiber is water tolerant by looking at its maintenance tag. This is normally located on the bottom of the furniture. If the tag is water-tolerant it will have a W or an S/W on it.

Instructions

1. Attach the upholstery attachment to the steam cleaner nozzle.

2. Plug the steam cleaner in and turn it on.

3. Let the steam cleaner heat up. The indicator light will show when the steam cleaner has reached the proper temperature.

4. Press the button on the steam cleaner to release the steam. Hold the upholstery nozzle above the surface of the upholstery.

5. Steam the microfiber couch with the upholstery nozzle until you loosen all of the stains and dirt. Blot up stains with a clean cloth as soon as you loosen them.

6. Let the microfiber sofa dry completely.

7. Brush the microfiber sofa with a suede brush to break up the dry sofa fibers. This will restore the soft appearance of the couch.
