How to Ask a Boy Out in 8th Grade

Asking someone out is no easy task at any age. It can be especially difficult during the awkward middle school years, when teasing is more prevalent. But fear not; the task is not impossible. The key to asking out a boy is to subtly convey your intentions before you actually ask him.

Instructions

1. Sit next to him in class and engage him in conversation. Pick a topic he would be interested in such as music or sports.

2. Hang around him and his friends. If someone you know is a friend of his friends, ask her to bring you along the next time there is a large group gathering.

3. Flirt with him by gently touching his arms; if he does not flinch or back away there is a good chance the boy is interested in you.

4. Make eye contact and give him small, secret smiles during class and in the hallway.

5. Ask him out on a date to something like a movie or a school football game. If you cannot screw up the courage for a face-to-face confrontation, slip a note in his locker.
