Printing on a Teflon tube might seem difficult at first, especially if you're envisioning using traditional printing processes. However, if you want to print on the tubes without dealing with the complex silkscreen printing process, using Frisket film, or a thin template film is your best bet.

Instructions

    • 1

Draw your design or typography you plan on printing on your Teflon tube, using a pencil. Wrap the sheet of paper around the tube to make sure the art or typography work fits properly.

    • 2

Place the sheet of paper onto your work space and tape it down to make sure it stays in place. Cut a sheet of Frisket film a few inches larger than the overall size of the design. Tape down the Frisket film over the sheet of paper so the design sits centered beneath it.

    • 3

Trace the design onto the Frisket film with a black pen or felt pen. Remove the paper under the Frisket film. Cut out the design you traced, making a negative template.

    • 4

Peel off the backing on the Frisket film carefully. Wrap the film onto the Teflon tube sticky side down. The adhesive on the frisket film is non-permanent so it can be repositioned if needed. Smooth out the Frisket film, removing all air bubbles and wrinkles. Apply your paint to the Frisket film template by brush. Make sure the paint is applied evenly and completely. Allow the paint to dry for a few minutes. Slowly peel the Frisket film from the Teflon tube before the paint is completely dry to avoid peeling.
