How to Make Marilyn Monroe Stencils
Stencils are good for people who want to create an intricate or detailed image but either lack the skills or the steady hand to do so. Stencils are also excellent for those who simply want a sharp, clean image and creating stencils is not a difficult task. In fact, creating a stencil can be a quick and easy process once you have the right items, allowing you to quickly paint the images you want.
Things You'll Need
- Image of Marilyn Monroe
- Clear acetate stencil sheet
- Masking or painters tape
- Exacto knife
Instructions
-
-
1
Lay the acetate sheet down on a flat surface, such as a table or floor. Make sure that the sheet is flat.
-
2
Place the image of Marilyn Monroe down on the acetate sheet.
-
-
3
Secure the image to the acetate sheet by taping the corners of the image down using the masking or painter tape.
-
4
Cut out the image with the Exacto knife, tracing around the parts of the image you want to have as a stencil. Be sure, when you cut, that it punctures both the image and the acetate sheet. Once you've finished cutting, remove the image from the stencil by carefully removing the tape.
