Magic Chef makes a variety of microwave ovens that are either mounted over a range or sit on a countertop and are vented through an exterior house wall. The microwave oven's interior lightbulb lights up its interior whenever you open the microwave's door or heat liquids or food. Eventually, the interior lightbulb will burn out and you will have to replace it. Instructions

      Unplug your Magic Chef microwave oven or disconnect the power to the kitchen at the circuit breaker. Ensure that the power is disconnected from the microwave before you make any repairs by closing the door and pressing the "On" button; the microwave should not start.

      Unscrew the two screws in the top grille and remove it. Set the grille aside. Place the two screws in a small bowl so that you can find them later, when replacing the grille. Remove the charcoal filter and set it aside where it will not be damaged.

      Pull out the light housing in a straight, horizontal motion. Unscrew the burnt out lightbulb with a counter-clockwise motion. Replace the old lightbulb with a new 30-watt lightbulb by screwing the new lightbulb into its socket with a clockwise motion.

      Push the light housing back into place with a straight, horizontal motion. Seat the charcoal filter back into place at the top of the microwave oven. Replace the top grille by screwing it back into place with the two screws and screwdriver.

      Reconnect the power to the Magic Chef microwave oven. Open the microwave oven's door to test whether the lightbulb will come on. If not, replace it with a new one. Dispose of the burnt out lightbulb in accordance with your local municipality's electrical waste ordinances.
