Sticky substances such as syrups and thick gravy can cause stains that may seem at first glance difficult to remove. Cleaning the stain immediately is of the utmost importance.   • Dish-washing liquid
  • White cloth
  • Ammonia
  • Sponge

Instructions

    • 1

      Mix together 1 tbsp. of liquid washing detergent with 2 cups of cold water in a bucket.

      Dip a white cloth in the water and dab at the sticky stain to wet it. Do not use a rag that is dyed a color, since the color may transfer to the carpet.

      Dab at the stain until the water is absorbed and the sticky liquid is removed.

      Mix together 1 tbsp. of ammonia with 1/2 cup of warm water in a bucket if the detergent does not remove the stain. Dab the stain with the mixture until the stain is removed then sponge the area with cold water.
