How to Make Resin & Paper Jewelry
Clear acrylic casting resin allows you to pour your own pendants into almost any mold you can imagine. You can create a gemstone look by laying a piece of paper into the mold before or during the pouring of the resin. Recessed ring and pendant bases are available in craft and jewelry stores, allowing you to lay a piece of paper into the base and pour the resin in on top of it. You can turn almost any image you can imagine into a piece of jewelry.

1
Lay the paper you want to use into the pendant or ring base. Press it firmly around the edges, creating folds to guide your cutting. Cut around the folds with scissors so your paper fits into the base.
-
2
Spread a layer of white glue on the back of the paper and press it into the base. Paint another layer of glue on top of the image with a small paint brush. Allow the glue to dry completely. This keeps the image from floating in the resin.

Use the medicine cup to measure out the hardener and catalyst. Pour them into the bowl with the recommended amount of resin and stir them with a craft stick for at least two minutes to make sure they are thoroughly mixed.
-
4
Pour the resin into the ring or pendant base. Fill the base all the way to the top.
-
5
Allow the resin to set for at least 24 hours. If you notice bubbles forming on the surface as it sets, blow on them very gently. The carbon dioxide from your breath will help them pop.

6
Wear your jewelry after 24 hours.

Tips & Warnings
Different resins require different mixtures of hardener and catalyst. Always read the instructions on the bottle before mixing, even if you have used another brand of resin before.
To prevent resin from spilling over the edges of the jewelry base, tape a wall of painter's tape around the base before pouring the resin in.
