Instructions

    • 1

Combine 1/4 cup marble cleanser with 1 gallon water. Dip a large sponge into the mixture and wipe down the marble, removing grease and dirt. Rinse the marble tile thoroughly. Wipe it down with a soft cloth and allow it to dry thoroughly.

Sand the marble tile with 220 grit sandpaper. This will allow you to open up the pores of the marble to better receive the paint. Dust the marble tile with a feather duster.

Open all the windows and doors of your kitchen. Tape off areas of your kitchen counters that you don't want to get paint onto, such as the backsplash, using painter's tape. Dip a paint roller into oil-based primer and apply it to the marble tile. Allow it to dry for one to three hours. Apply a second coat and allow it to dry for the same amount of time, sanding it lightly with your sandpaper once it's dry.

Dust off the tile with your feather duster. Rinse off the paint roller and pat it dry with paper towels. Pour oil-based paint in the color of your choice into your paint roller pan. Dip your roller in the paint and apply it, making even strokes to your marble tile. Allow it to dry and add a second coat in the same fashion.
