Troubleshooting the Whirlpool Gew9200ll1 Dryer

The Whirlpool Gew9200ll1 model dryer is a Whirlpool Duet electronic dryer. It is a front loading dryer that comes with an optional use drying rack. The Whirlpool Gew9200ll1 dryer features an electronic control panel with a push-to-start button. Both automatic and manual drying cycles are available, with a total of eight drying cycles in all. If you are experiencing problems with your Whirlpool Duet dryer, you may be able to do a little troubleshooting on your own.

Instructions

1. Clean the lint off the dryer lint screen if the dryer is not drying effectively. The lint screen should be cleaned after each load of laundry.

2. Place your hand under the dryer exhaust vent while the dryer is running to check for air. If you do not feel any air, you have lint clogging the exhaust, which can be cleaned out by sticking something like a broom handle in the vent to clean it out.

3. Look at your fuse box or breaker box to check for blown fuses or tripped breakers. This can be the cause of a dryer that won't start or that isn't heating effectively.

4. Remove any extra dryer sheets from the dryer because they can clog the grille and prevent effective drying. Only one sheet should be used per load of laundry.

5. Separate some of the laundry out of the dryer to make smaller loads. Overloading the dryer can result in ineffective drying.

6. Press the dryer plug securely into the wall outlet, if the dryer will not power on. Also, try plugging a lamp into the outlet to make sure the outlet is not bad.

7. Press and hold the "Start" button for two seconds if you are having problems with the dryer coming on or if you have an error code that starts with "PF." If this doesn't work, check the cycle knob to make sure you have selected a drying cycle.

8. Call Whirlpool customer assistance at 800-253-1301 if you are experiencing an error code that starts with an "E."
