Extensions that cannot keep up with Google Chrome's frequent update cycle can cause the browser to become unresponsive or even crash directly to the desktop. You can prevent such issues from disrupting your Web browsing experience by opting to uninstall any outdated or unwanted extensions from Google Chrome. To remove an installed extension, either visit Chrome’s Extensions page or use the “Remove from Chrome” shortcut if the extension has a button visible on the Chrome user interface.
Removing Chrome Extensions
On any open Google Chrome window, press “Alt-F,” point to “Tools,” then select “Extensions” to open the Extensions page. Alternately, enter “chrome://extensions” into the URL bar, then press “Enter” to get to the Extensions page. Click the trash-bin shaped icon next to the extension that you need to remove, then click “Remove” on the confirmation box. Alternately, you can uncheck the box next to "Enabled" to stop the extension from functioning without removing it. If the extension has a button visible next to the Chrome address bar, right-click the icon, then select “Remove from Chrome” to uninstall it without having to visit the Chrome extensions page.
