Uninstall Google Chrome to remove the Web browser application, website history, cookies and personal preferences from your computer. Chrome is a free software application that allows users to safely and quickly browse Web pages and view online content. When troubleshooting problems with Google Chrome, try restarting the application and reinstalling add-ons and plug-ins before resorting to uninstalling and reinstalling the entire program.

      Click "Start" on the Windows task bar.

      Click the "All Programs" tab at the bottom left side of the Start menu. A dialogue box will appear displaying a list of all programs installed on the computer.

      Select Google Chrome from the list of programs. Click "Uninstall Google Chrome."

      Select "Also delete browser data" if you want to delete your profile, preferences and browser history.

      Click "OK" to begin uninstalling Google Chrome. A dialogue box may prompt you to select another default Web browser program.
