      Examine the overhead motor unit of your Genie garage door opener to locate the electronic control panel. Locate the "Open" and "Close" load lift controls on the panel's far right side.

      Turn the "Open" or "Close" load lift controls to the left to decrease the amount of force used to lift or lower the door. Turn the controls to the right to increase the amount of force used. For best results, use the least amount of force necessary to get the door to fully open without stopping and fully close without reversing.
