Instructions

    • 1

Locate the spot on the roof where the tube will be installed and hammer a nail through the center to mark the location. Check the attic to make sure there are no obstructions in the way and find the spot on the inside of the house where the skylight will be installed. Mark the ceiling with a nail.

    • 2

Remove the circle ring from the sun tunnel and place it up against the ceiling. Outline the circle and cut out along the line with a drywall jab saw. Connect the provided plastic plates to the ceiling ring and set it up into the opening. Insert screws into the provided holes to secure it to the ceiling.

    • 3

Set the sun tunnel flashing over the top of the nail on the roof so the nail is in the center and outline the flashing. Pry up the shingles or other roofing material with a pry bar. Cut out the opening with a reciprocating saw. Set the flashing into the opening and insert the provided fasteners into the holes. Seal around the perimeter with roofing sealant.

    • 4

Reinstall the shingles over the flange so that only the hole is visible. Press the provided aluminum ring from the tunnel kit into the flexible tunnel and secure it with pan head screws. Place it into the opening on the roof. Set the plastic dome on top and insert screws into the holes in the side to hold it in place.

    • 5

Go into the attic and pull the flexible tunnel down through the attic. Connect the pieces if necessary by wrapping the bottom with the provided one-inch snapping ring. Connect the next piece of flexible tunnel and move it down to the circle ring. Fold the end of the tunnel over the locking snap ring. Screw the trim ring in to the top of the ceiling over the circle ring.
