Make a lapel pin with a ribbon bead for your next special occassion.

On certain occasions, sporting a lapel pin adds a special touch to your outfit. There are a lot of affordable lapel options on the market, however if you'd like to make a custom lapel pin the process takes few supplies and very little time. Most often, ribbon beads are used as a decorative accessory for metal or ribbon bracelets. But if you'd like to use something other than the traditional metal, ribbon or flower lapel, ribbon beads are a creative way to personalize your lapel pin.

  • Ribbon beads
  • Hot glue gun
  • Hot glue stick
  • Pin back
  • Tweezers

Instructions

    • 1

      Place the ribbon bead face down on covered flat surface. Ribbon beads are usually etched with a picture on one side, so make sure to place the picture side of of the ribbon bead face down.

      Place a few drops of hot glue in the center of the ribbon bead.

    • 3

      Pick the pin back up and hold it between your index and thumb fingers with the flat surface up.

    • 4

      Place the flat surface of the pin back directly over the hot glue droplets and press down firmly. Wait for the glue to set and cool before you pin it to your favorite jacket.
