Visit the Ampy Community Center, Delta Community College, Northeast Technical College or Quachita Parish Education Center in the Quachita area of Monroe, La., to get GED eligibility and forms. According to the Louisiana Department of Education, "Students who are not enrolled in K-12 schools and who are 17 years old or older may be authorized to take the GED tests." The centers offer GED exam preparation class and administers the Test of Adult Basic Education to gauge where you are in your educational needs.

Enroll in the GED prep classes and take the Test of Adult Basic Education. You'll be assigned an adviser that will create a curriculum plan specific to your educational needs. If you are 19 years or older you may not be required to take the Test of Adult Basic Education, however it is advised , but not mandatory.
