How to Seat an ATV Tire
Tires are an important component of an ATV. You need to ensure the tires are properly seated on the tire rims for a smooth ride and the tires remain inflated properly. When replacing a tire or repositioning it on the rim, you will need to know the proper seating technique, which should be done with the tire removed from the ATV.

1
Loosen the ATV tire's lug nuts, using a socket wrench or tire iron. Set the emergency brake and use a jack to raise the section of the ATV that you will be working on. Remove the lug nuts and put them to the side. Remove the tire and rim, grabbing the sides of the tire and pull it away from the ATV. Place the tire and rim on its side on a flat surface.
-
2
Position a tie-down clamp around the perimeter of the tire and secure it in place.
-
-
3
Remove the tire valve cover, turning counterclockwise with your fingers, and put it aside.
-
4
Fill the tire with air, using an air compressor with a quick-release hose.
-
5
Examine the tire for air leaks. Reposition a tire with leaks by tightening the tie-down clamp or move the tire into a better position, using your hands. Fill the tire with air until it is filled to the recommended PSI, according to the tire manufacturer.
-
6
Replace the tire valve cover, turning clockwise.
-
7
Place the tire and rim on the ATV. Hand-tighten the lug nuts and lower the jack to the ground. Tighten the lug nuts completely, using the socket wrench or tire iron.
