How to Feed a Picky Child
Getting your picky eater to eat her food can be a difficult task, especially when she doesn't like the foods she needs most. 1
Make the meal as fun for your child as possible by dressing it up. For example, make a face on a pizza by using pepperoni for eyes, a slice of green pepper for a nose and tomato sauce for the mouth. Or put raisins on peanut butter-filled celery and tell him these are insects climbing a tree.

2
Offer your child only one choice so she doesn't become temperamental and demand another food item. This can be efficient if you are trying to get your child to eat vegetables. Serve the vegetables first and don't bring out the next food item until she's eaten some.

Include him in the cooking process. He may be more inclined to eat the food if he helped prepare it. Even a task as simple as cutting mushrooms for a stir-fry may entice him to try the food. He may be curious to taste the results from his work.

4
Don't bribe your child with ice cream or another treat if she finishes what's on her plate. This could convince your child that healthy food is a hurdle to get over before she can enjoy dessert or snacks.

5
Hide healthy food in food that your child normally enjoys. Cover broccoli with a cheese sauce or add vegetables to pizza. The strong tastes of the cheese and sauce will mask much of the vegetable taste that many children don't like.
