1
Decide on the goals you have for your newsletter. Newsletters can be used for a variety of things from driving up website traffic, promoting products to sell, giving information on your blog or website or even just letting people know when there's been updates to your blog or website. Newsletters can have a few goals, but you will want it planned out so the theme and wording can be focused and tight.

Set up an account with an auto responder service. Popular and trusted services include but are not limited to Aweber, iContact and MailChimp. Most services will offer a range of packages for varying fees. Find one that meets your needs and fits your budget. In many cases, a free trial offer on most sites will help you assess each service. As you set up your account, the website will walk you through the steps, but it most commonly includes setting up an account name, password, contact info and identification.

Search through the different templates the auto responder service offers. Find one that closely matches the theme and look you want or that fits with your website. For a more custom look, you can also upload logos and images to add to templates. Once you have your look down, save the file as a template on the site. This will allow you to recall and edit it at any time.
-
4
Use your template you have made to build the first newsletter. Change out images and text with your own. Make adjustments as needed, but keep the look and feel similar to the original template to keep things tight. Save the newsletter. Most services will ask if you would like to publish now and send it to your subscribers, or you can input a later date for a timed release.
-
5
Under the account section of your auto responder service, locate the "Add a Badge" or "Add Subscription Button" section. In this section of your account, you can use the web code provided to add to your blog or website adding a button or link for users to click. Once you have added this code, users can click on the link or button and will automatically be subscribed to your newsletter.

6
Keep setting up new newsletters as time goes on. Plan on having a newsletter out every week, month or every other month. Keep to your time frame as if it was a magazine subscription. As the newsletter gets older, take time to tweak and adjust to keep a fresh and new look.
