How to Get Ungrounded for Bad Grades

How to Get Ungrounded for Bad Grades thumbnail
Study harder and improve your grades.

Not being able to hang out with your friends or participate in extracurricular activities can be frustrating. Maybe it was a few D or F grades that got you grounded or it was all C grades. Whatever the case, try and speed up getting out of grounding by behaving appropriately. Rebelling against your parents over this decision can just lead to you being grounded for a longer period of time. Try getting your grades up and you may be able to shorten your grounding sentence.

Instructions

    • 1

Talk with your parents on what you need to do to get ungrounded faster. Approach them carefully and don't place blame or begin yelling. Be honest with your parents about why you may have gotten bad grades and come up with solutions for the problem.

    • 2

Study harder in the classes where you got bad grades. Ask your teachers for help or let your parents know that you may need help. Ask for a tutor if necessary.

    • 3

Help out more around the house whether it involves doing the dishes, cooking one night of the week, taking out the trash, or babysitting younger siblings.

    • 4

Ask your teachers for progress reports if you have been doing better in their classes. Give these reports to your parents to show them that you're working on your grades.

Tips & Warnings

  • Don't try to sneak out during your grounding. This could cause your parents to ground you for a longer period of time.

  • You won't get ungrounded quickly. It does take time, so be patient and just try to be on your best behavior.
