Pay attention to how you feel, when you are writing down the qualities you want. Do they make you feel happy? It's good to put emotion behind what you are wanting to create.

      Use visualization to manifest your ideal mate. Sit down and close your eyes. Simply focus on your breathing for about 10 minutes. Once you feel completely relaxed, imagine your ideal mate. You don't have to give him or her a face. Just focus on how he or she makes you feel. Imagine a string that connects both of you. It becomes shorter and shorter, as you reel are drawn together. Do this for several minutes. When you open your eyes, release the idea. Do not think about it anymore.

      Act and feel like you have want you want already. Things don't come to those who are in "need." They come to those who are in a state of want. Let go of any outcomes you are expecting and see how things manifest in your life.

      Be in places and situations where people who would likely have the characteristics you are looking for would be. For example, if you want a career minded person get involved with a group for such individuals. Placing yourself in proximity with the type of people you desire to be with will open up the possibility for new friendships, and even a new relationship.
