How to Convert Pakistan Rupees to Dollars

The Pakistan Rupee is the official currency of Pakistan. The currency is distributed by the State Bank of Pakistan. The symbol that most commonly denotes the Rupee is "Rs." The Rupee was attached to the U.S. dollar until 1982 and at that time received a devaluation of 38.5%. When traveling to countries that utilize the U.S. dollar such as North America, Puerto Rico or the U.S. Virgin Islands, you can find the conversion amount through various online tools.

Instructions

1. Verify the current rupees-to-dollars exchange rate. Use an online currency converter such as "Coin Mill" or "Yahoo: Finance Currency Converter" (See "Resources").

2. Visit the local bank branch you utilize. Ask them to exchange the rupees you have for dollars. The teller can either hand you the dollars or place it in a bank account with a bank account number that you have provided to them. It should be an account you hold with them.

3. Find a currency exchange stand at a hotel or airport if you are traveling. Exchange the rupees for dollars there. You can also go to a nearby American Express travel agency and ask if they can exchange rupees for dollars (See "Resources").
