Removing a Jeep YJ Transfer Case

The transfer case on a Jeep YJ connects the transmission on the Jeep to the front and rear axles via the driveshafts. This is crucial for the proper operation of the four-wheel drive system. If the transfer case should fail, then you won't be able to activate the four wheel drive system at all. If the transfer case needs maintenance or repair, then you need to drop it from the transmission so that it can be serviced properly.
