How to Operate a Jeep Commander VES

Save

Some Jeep Commander SUVs come with a system known as VES (vehicle entertainment system). This system consists of a flip-down LCD screen in the back seat, a DVD player, a remote control and wireless headphones. The VES is only available with the touchscreen Commander radio. You can use the VES to play DVDs in your vehicle, which can help pass the time on a long trip. Operating the VES is straightforward.

  • Crank the Jeep Commander's engine and move to the second-row seating area. Grasp the LCD's handle on the headliner and pull it down to open the screen.

  • Push the "Open/Close" button in the upper left corner of the Commander's radio. The touchscreen radio will slide forward, exposing a DVD slot. Insert the DVD into the slot with the label facing up.

  • Push the "Open/Close" button to move the touchscreen radio screen back into position.

  • Push the "Play" button on the DVD remote from the back seat to begin playing the DVD. If you want to stop the DVD, push "Stop." To skip forward, push the "Forward" arrow. To skip backward, push the "Back" arrow.

  • Turn the wireless headphone switch to "On" to begin using the wireless headphones with the VES. The audio will broadcast into the headphones. If you would rather play the film through the Commander's radio speakers, push the "Radio/Media" button on the touchscreen radio, then select "DVD."

  • Push "Open/Close," then push "Eject" if you want to remove the DVD from the system.
