Pull the factory stereo from the dashboard by following the directions in the vehicle's owner's manual and removing any part of the dashboard necessary, as indicated.
-
-
3
Unplug the factory stereo from the plastic wiring harness that connects the stereo to your vehicle's electrical system. The wiring harness is a plastic plug that joins the wires from the back of the stereo to wires within the dashboard.
-
4
Attach the metal sleeve that was included with the Jensen radio to a mounting kit that was made specifically for your vehicle by following the instructions that accompanied the mounting kit. This process will involve the use of a screwdriver to bend the tabs of the metal sleeve in order to secure it to the mounting kit.
-
5
Match the colored wires coming from the back of the Jensen radio to the colored wires of a custom wiring harness that is specifically manufactured for your vehicle. Connect the matching colored wires by twisting the bare ends together and wrapping them securely in electrical tape. Using a custom wiring harness ensures a seamless transition from your factory stereo to the Jensen radio.

Locate your vehicle's parking brake wire by using the wiring diagram in the vehicle's owner's manual. Splice the Jensen's video switch wire to your vehicle's parking brake wire by stripping the protective plastic coating from the parking brake wire and wrapping the bare wire end of the video switch wire around the bare parking brake wire. Cover all bare wire by wrapping it tightly with electrical tape. The video switch wire ensures that the parking brake is engaged before the video of the Jensen is allowed to be turned on.
