Fishtail braid
-
1
Part your hair down the center with a comb. Beginning at your forehead, twist a 1-inch section of hair away from your face on the right side of the part.
-
2
Separate a 1/2-inch section right below the section you have just twisted. Twist this piece away from your face while combining it with the first piece. Continue adding 1/2-inch pieces, and twisting them along your hairline, until you reach the nape of your neck.
-
-
3
Clip the hair in place at the nape of your neck. Starting at your forehead, repeat the same twisting on the left side. When you finish twisting the left side and reach the nape of your neck, remove the clip from the right side. Hold both sides in two separate sections.
-
4
Braid the remaining two sections into one by pulling a 1/2-inch section of hair from the right section and adding it to the left section. Now pull a piece from the left section and add it to the right section. Continue adding 1/2-inch pieces down until you reach the ends of your hair. Secure with an elastic band. Spray with hairspray to set.

5
Remove moisture from hair by blotting dry with a towel. Apply a curl-enhancing styling product to your damp hair to define curly locks. This style braid works best on curly hair, but can be achieved on any type of hair. If your hair is not curly, simply use hot rollers or curl your hair with a curling iron.
-
6
Blow-dry hair with a diffuser attachment. This will help eliminate frizz. Once dry and/or curled, French braid a 3-inch section of hair on each side of your head starting just above your ears.
-
7
Keep the front of your hair loose and swept to the side. Take the French braids along with the remaining hair in the back, and braid it until all of your hair is incorporated. Wrap an elastic band around the end of the braid.
-
8
Tuck the braid up under the rest of your hair, at the nape of your neck, and secure with bobby pins. Style the rest of the curls on top of your hair to hang loose and out of your face. As an alternative, strategically pile the curls on top of your head and secure them with bobby pins to keep them out of your eyes, keeping the appearance of loose flowing locks. For hairstyles with bangs, curl bangs under with a curling iron, or flip them out in the opposite direction for a more flirty style. Hairspray to set.
Boho braids

9
Blow-dry your hair straight and part in the center with a comb.
-
10
Pull out a 1-inch section on both sides of your part, 2 inches away from your hairline. Then pull out and clip two 2-inch pieces above each ear out of the way. You will have a total of four pieces, two on top of your head and two just above your ears.
-
11
Pull the remaining hair into a low bun. Bobby-pin it against the nape of your neck, and tuck in the ends. Or leave a few hanging loose for an effortless look.
-
12
Braid each of the top sections down and bobby pin them to your bun. Now braid the side sections over the top of your head, and bobby pin the ends to your head to secure. Use a smoothing serum or pomade to smooth ends, or spray with hairspray to set and eliminate flyaways.
