How to Assemble a Platform Bed

The platform bed is one of several styles of bed that the average person uses to support a mattress. The bed features features a low, raised, horizontal surface. The surface of the platform is often larger than the base of the bed. One advantage to having a platform style bed is that it eliminates the use of a boxspring. Assembly of this type of bed is very simple.

Instructions

1. Clear a space in the room to accommodate the dimensions of the platform bed.

2. Lay the frame of the platform bed onto the floor.

3. Place the rails of the bed into the frame and attach them with the appropriate method. Depending on the platform bed, you may attach the rails with screws, cam locks or an alternative locking system.

4. Place the headboard of the platform bed at the end of the frame and attach it.

5. Attach the legs of the bed to the frame.

6. Rest your mattress over the frame and rails so that it is lined up evenly and the weight is properly distributed.
